Winter is the season for decadent, smooth, velvety, and rich hot chocolate! No better time to indulge in this super affordable, easy, yet decadent recipe than now! The nights are getting longer, the houses are getting decorated, and everyone is still quarantined and therefore lonely and sad. I joke, but in all seriousness, it’s time to bring some C-H-E-E-R into our homes with this yummy drink!

All it takes is some milk, cocoa, chocolate chips, and sugar! That is for the base recipe of course! But you can glam it up even more with some cinnamon, nutmeg, marshmallows, and a little bit of whipped cream for a garnish!



Decadent Christmas Hot Chocolate
A delicious and easy recipe to make the perfect hot cocoa this cold, winter season!
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 8 cups milk (2% or higher recommended)
- ½ cup cocoa
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
- 1 can whipped cream (garnish)
- marshmallows (optional, but highly recommended)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a pot, and bring to a boil. Stir until all ingredients are melted.
- Reduce to a low heat and serve immediately!






[…] These little guys took me 10 minutes to make, and although the original instructions said to dip the marshmallows in a mixture of powdered sugar and cornstarch, I was lazy and just used icing sugar.
