This year our Christmas decor was all about classic charm with a playful twist. For our holiday home tour, I leaned into a white and red peppermint Christmas theme that’s clean, cozy, and full of nostalgic holiday cheer.

Soft white backdrops keep the space light and airy, while pops of festive red add warmth and contrast throughout the room. Peppermint-inspired accents like candy cane stripes, red ribbon details, and subtle gingerbread touches bring that unmistakable Christmas magic without feeling overdone.
I added candy cane–inspired accents (thanks to my wonderful friend, Maral), cozy textures with some new embroidered pillows, and natural greenery so that they come together to create a space that feels both playful and timeless. By layering soft neutrals with bold holiday color and a few nostalgic details, the result is a Christmas home that feels warm, welcoming, and effortlessly festive.

Natural textures, especially think cozy knits, wood accents, and greenery help balance the sweetness of the theme, creating a space that feels welcoming, festive, and totally livable. It’s the kind of decor that feels just as perfect for a quiet December morning as it does for hosting family and friends.
Now, my goal was originally a flocked tree with some blue accents, but I decided that next year that would be the big experiment, and this year was festive classics! Our upper floor ended up lighter and more airy, versus a more heavy and cozy basement.

The night time twinkly tree (this is Home Depot’s Grand Duchess) makes such an impact and while the lights are a little on the white side, I find that with time the LEDs in other trees have turned a little more yellow, so perhaps this one needs a little bit more time.

If you love classic Christmas decor, peppermint-inspired holiday styling, and a timeless red and white Christmas look, this theme is an easy way to bring joy and nostalgia into your home all season long.
